Before I start this review, I should mention that I have two completely different feet and they are seldom in agreement about shoes. I have to search for shoes that make both feet happy. I have always had higher arches, but they have been flattening over the years. Now, one has a higher arch than the other one and is a half-size shorter. It is also slightly wider at the ball. That foot likes to supinate. The arch fell more in the other foot, which is now slightly longer. That one is fairly neutral. I have sensitive feet and both are very picky about shoes. I like a roomy toe box and a narrower heel. These Gel-Kayano shoes certainly satisfy that criteria. However, my right foot hates this shoe due to the support features. This is a beautiful shoe, but it is supportive to the point of being a bit oppressive. There is too much padding around the cuff at the heel, which is a bit uncomfortable and rubs a bit on the heel of the shorter foot. There is great deal of cushioning in the sole and heel, which is good for "supinators", but it is a big sacrifice in responsiveness. The outside of my supinating right foot just mushes right into the lateral part of the shoe, rather than pushing off. I need a supportive shoe for my right foot, but it feels like this shoe is doing the opposite of what I need it to do. It seems to be exaggerating the supination. My left foot, which is flatter and more neutral, is OK with this shoe. It finds it comfortable. Of course, I buy shoes to fit the longer foot, so the shoe does fit the left foot better. That may also be why it isn't bothered by the excessive padding around the cuff at the heel. Unfortunately, it slides and rubs on my shorter, problemed, supinating right foot. My guess is that the shoe has to be a perfect fit or the padded heel is going to be a problem for some. I do find that the shoe is true to sizing. I measure both the width and length of my feet before ordering online and check with the manufacturer for sizing. These fit exactly as expected. They are a bit more snug at the arch and the heel for support, but the toe box is ample for me. My feet are pretty standard for width and I don't find this shoe to run narrow, like many claim the Asics brand to do. I think this shoe would be great for pronators who want superb cushioning, but I wouldn't recommend it for supinators. The cushioning is certainly ample for supinators, but the support seems to be geared more for pronation. It seems to actually push my feet in that direction. I did try the Asics Gel-Cumulus 23, which was a better fit for my supinating right foot. It puts it in the correct alignment without putting all kinds of unnecessary pressure on the foot. It still has more padding at the cuff of the heel and more cushioning in the sole than I would like, but that is more of a personal preference. I tend to prefer more responsiveness over cushioning. I also tried the Asics Gel-Venture 7 to help my supinating right foot, which doesn't have nearly as much cushioning and padding, but the shoe is supportive and responsive. Both of my feet love that shoe, as well as the price tag. Lastly, I also tried the Brooks Adrenaline GTS, which is a fine shoe for cushioning, but it doesn't seem to be made as well as the the Asics brand shoes or provide as much support. It has some degree of side rail support, but the material above the sole doesn't provide much form or shape. It is pretty soft and allows the foot to slide around. It is, however, a comfortable shoe for everyday wearing. I just wouldn't run in them. All four pairs of these shoes were purchased and compared for their comfort and ability to help my right, supinating foot without irritating my left foot. While I am on the fence about the Brooks shoes, I'm keeping the latter two pairs of Asics shoes and returning the Gel-Kayano 28s. I just don't feel the Gel-Kayano 28s are a good fit for supination.I am on my feet 8 hours a day. My favorite shoes are Asics. Tried all kind of other more affordable brands but decided to stay with Asics. Usually I wear 8.5 in Kayano and Nimbus but in this model I am definitely an 8. Had to return my 8.5s for an 8. I have horrible flat feet, extra bones in my feet etc. and the Kayano helps a little bit better than other shoe-brands to survive my day on my feet. They do have support but not like "prescribed insoles" good. The width is just right for my feet. I do love the bright pink color.I put a lot of mileage on my shoes. They rarely last me more than a few months. Kayanos are a no fail for me. Order and wear right out of the box, no break in time. I always order a half size up and they are perfect. As I said they are very comfortable almost like walking on air. Usually I buy custom fit inner soles for my shoes, but this time I am going to skip them and go with the original inner soles as the feel very supportive.Have a sprained ankle and purchased these for added support while I keep moving. I haven't made my ankle any worst over the past month or so that I've been wearing, which is good but I was hoping they would support my ankle so well that I wouldn't feel any discomfort at all while wearing these in combination with an ankle sleeve. Unfortunately they don't eliminate the pain but I am able to speed walk with a lot less pain (I wouldn't dare run in them yet). I haven't worn other sneakers that I have that have less or no ankle support as a comparison yet but I will try that and update the difference.I always run in Asics shoes because I need a stable and supportive running shoe. I bought the exact size I run in, which is a half size larger than my regular shoes, but this 8.5 size is slightly larger than my other Asics 8.5 size running shoes. I notice it in the length and the toe bed. I have a narrow foot, and the rest of the shoe is fine, and the heel is narrow where I need it. I think I will get used to these shoes being slightly longer but it will take a couple more runs to determine if I need to bite the bullet and order a size 8. Otherwise, the shoe is very nice looking, just not exactly what I was expecting. If you need support & comfort this is by far best sneaker I have gotten. You need the gel support though. I have gotten the ASICS without & not the sameFor some reason all running shoes (at least all the ones I have tried) run small. I am a woman with size 12 feet. Luckily, these come in a size 13. I was looking for a good neutral shoe to wear with my orthotics. These are really good shoes, I bought a second pair. The runners are the correct style and size but the wrong colour. I have very bad feet and needed a new pair. I was told the best way was online. So, now I have a pair but the colour is NOT what I ordered. Not sure I’d trust them again. These aren’t a $30 pair of shoes. When spending $100s maybe trust some place else.Love the Asics Gel Kayano line for so many reasons; narrow fit, which is perfect for my foot, durability, cushioning, and for me added bonus that they are a vegan friendly shoe. Quick delivery, product arrived as expected.Grundsätzlich tolle Sportschuhe.Ein Schuh hatte jedoch eine falsche Naht, somit keine Passform. Unverkäuflich. Alles zurück, sehr ärgerlich, da Versand aus Amerika!!!I use them for running, walking, doing errands!! Very confortable!!!Favourite shoe to wear.
